Shifting Battery

September 11, 2007 | | Comments 6

Intake system remove, battery and tray removed. Getting ready to custom make a new battery tray.

Temporary mock up tray done.

Custom tray was made in 4 hours after much wielding and cutting. That is the best and further the battery can go without too much complicated modification.

Customised short ram intake. Perfect position. Not block and air is coming in at high speed.

New Simota Breather intake, since it is too far to connect back into the new intake system.

New frame was made for my radiator reservoir.

New location for my Bellon Mugen VX

Final product after a long half day. Finished the installation by 10pm late night.

How you find this setup, post your comments. Any better design?

Hi, very nice site.. I also have an fd2.. interesting modification in moving the battery.. any dyno results after doing it? i tried a short ram intake before but dyno result was zero gain (maybe because of the hot air at the back of the engine).. so decided to put back my K&N drop-in filter first since it showed a 5hp gain in the dyno. Cold air intake not advisable here in the philippines because some areas get flooded sometimes. Have you seen the GruppeM Ram Air Intake for the FD2? Very nice…

Gonna be installing custom headers soon.. it showed very impressive gains in HP and especially torque in my friend’s fd2.

By the way, im confused.. are you still isung this set-up or are you using the injen CAI?
